Airstrike in Afghanistan kills 20 talibans and a commander
A commander of the Taliban group Mullah Abdul Basir and his twenty fighters have been killed in an airstrike in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan.
The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said the airstrike was carried out by coalition forces late on afternoon evening.
The statement further added that the gathering was targeted in Nawshar Baloch area of Chemtal district, leaving Mawlavi Abdul Basir alias Badar dead with his two fighters.
According to 209th Shaheen Corps, an armored vehicle of the militants was also destroyed along with several motorcycles in the airstrike.
Another militant was killed during a clash with the security forces in Darwaza Khwaja area of the province, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.
