Afghanistan: Taliban fighters take heavy losses in military offensives
The Taliban are consistently taking heavy losses in the battlefield and military offensives and Afghanistan’s armed forces killed at least 56 militants and injured 22 others in crackdowns over past day.
The Defense Ministry said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Kapisa, Laghman, Paktia, Kandahar, Herat, Ghor, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations 51 insurgents were killed and 22 others wounded.
Afghan forces succeeded to arrest four militants and hand over them to judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 18 Taliban fighters were killed in Shindand district of Herat, 17 militants were killed, six wounded and 24 round of mines discovered and neutralized in Rangrizan and Mandozai villages of Maiwand district in Kandahar, 11 insurgents were killed and two vehicle with weapons and ammunition of the enemy destroyed in Ab Kamari district of Badghis, four rebels were killed and four others wounded in Khwaja Sabzposh district of Faryab, three insurgents were wounded in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province.
