Khalilzad arrives in Qatar to accelerate progress in peace talks

US Special Representative for Afghanistan Peace Process Zalmay Khalilzad has left Washington for Doha to seek more regional support for Afghan peace talks.
On his twitter handler, Khalilzad said: “En route back to the region. Stopping first in Ankara to discuss Turkey’s support for #Afghanistan Peace Negotiations.”
He added: “I’ll also be traveling in the region to garner more international support for the #AfghanPeaceProcess. From there, headed to #Doha to see how best we can help the sides build on the success of their recent agreement on rules and procedures and make quick progress on a political roadmap and permanent and comprehensive ceasefire”
