Kandahar: 33 injured in Daman bombing
At least 33 people were wounded in a car bomb attack in southern Kandahar province on Monday, officials said.
Bahir Ahmadi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the car bomb targeted the police headquarters in Daman district this morning.
He said a Mazda-type vehicle was used in the attack which wounded 33 individuals, seven employees of the district centre.
Two National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel, nine policemen and 15 members of a family were also among the injured, the official added.
Some parts of the district centre and the police headquarters were damaged as a result of the massive bombing.
Police spokesman Jamal Barakzai said Daman police chief Abdul Wadoon was wounded along with two security guards.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
