Air and Ground Raids Leaves 28 Rebels Dead in Urozgan
More than 28 Taliban fighters were killed and eight others were wounded during air and ground attacks in southern Urozgan province last night.
The militants have been targeted in Dehrawoud, Khas Urozgan districts and Tarinkot city the provincial capital of the province.
Senior commander in Atal army corps told BNA correspondent, 28 rebels including their six local commanders were killed and eight more were wounded following the air and ground raids.
Seven Pakistani nationals are among the dead, the source added.
The insurgents targeted by Afghan security forces, while they stormed on security shells in the mentioned areas.
According to another report, Afghan security troops by discovering and confiscating 14 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several deadly incidents in crowded areas of Urozgan province.
