Police official killed in Kabul operation

A district police chief has been killed during an operation against criminals in Kabul, an official said on Saturday.

Vice President Amrullah Saleh wrote on his Facebook page that Lt. Masihullah, police chief for the 10th district of Kabul, was killed on Friday.

He said the killer had been identified as Hamid. Police late raided his home but he managed to flee.

Saleh urged the inhabitants of Kabul to cooperate with the security organs in arresting criminals.

Tariq Aryan, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed the killing of the head for the 10th police district of the capital city.
