Taliban vows commitment to Doha Agreement
The Taliban have rejected the Pentagon statement on violating Doha Agreement and said the group was committed to every article of the agreement.
The Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid in a tweet said: “Assertion by @PentagonPresSec that IEA not meeting commitments is unfounded. IEA is fully committed to all clauses of Doha agrmt., & is implementing own part. Implementation of Doha agrmt. is the only solution to ongoing conflict. We also urge US to fully adhere to Doha agrmt.”
Earlier, the Pentagon said that the Taliban are not meeting the promises they made in the peace agreement with the United States, including reducing violence and cutting ties with Al-Qaeda, the Pentagon said Thursday.
“We are still involved in trying to get a negotiated settlement. The Taliban have not met their commitments,” said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
