26 deminers killed or injured in a Taliban night ambush in northern Afghanistan

According to the reports, the Taliban have killed at least 10 deminers and injured another 16 of them in an ambush in northern Baghlan province, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.

In a statement published by the Ministry of Interior, the Taliban militants have attacked the mine-clearance organization camp last night, storming them with bullets, killing at least 10 of them.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs have confirmed that 16 others have been wounded in his attack.

The incident has happened around 10:00 PM on Tuesday evening in Baghlan Markazi district on ‘HALO trust’, a UK-US non-governmental organization specializing in mine clearance and removal of unexploded ordnances.

The HALO Trust organization published a statement confirming the death of its 10 employee and injury of 16 staff by unknown armed gunmen.

Around 110 men, from local communities in northern Afghanistan, were in the camp having finished their work on the nearby minefield, said HALO Trust in a statement

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson to the Taliban group has published a statement on his Twitter account, rejecting the Taliban’s involvement in this incident.
