Deputy governor killed in Kapisa clashes
Aziz-ur-Rahman Tawab, Deputy Governor of Kapisa, was killed during clashes between the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) and Taliban militants in Najrab district of the province on Friday, police confirmed.
Abdul Shayaq Shorish, a spokesman for Kapisa police, told Ariana News that Tawab was killed in the Dare Afghania area of the district on Friday morning.
Tawab and public uprising forces visited the frontline to encourage the Afghan forces against the militants, sources said.
According to the sources, Tawab went to Najrab district along with uprising forces to encourage ANDSF.
The Taliban has not commented so far.
Meanwhile, the Afghan and the public uprising forces have regained control of the Saighan and Kahmard districts of central Bamyan province, local officials said.
The districts were fallen to the Taliban two days ago.
The development comes as the Taliban have intensified attacks on districts centers.
