Iranian and Turkish Presidents emphasize need for constructive interaction with Afghan officials
The presidents of Turkey and Iran emphasized the need for practical and constructive interaction with the Afghan officials and the establishment of an all-inclusive government.
Following a meeting Thursday between the two leaders, in Turkey, a joint statement was issued.
Both presidents condemned Israel’s war against Gaza and called for an immediate end to the attacks and for the lifting of the blockade into the Gaza strip and the urgent, sufficient and unhindered delivery of essential goods and services to the Palestinian people.
Also, emphasizing the need to respect the territorial integrity of the countries of the Caucasus region, the two countries evaluated the 3+3 regional platform as a suitable forum for consultation and constructive cooperation between the member countries.
In the joint statement they said practical and constructive interaction with the current officials of Afghanistan as important and emphasized the need to create an inclusive, responsible and responsive government in Afghanistan on behalf of all the people of this country and provide security for them without any ethnic and sectarian discrimination.
Also, the necessity of comprehensive fight against all terrorist groups, drug production and trafficking, human trafficking and illegal traffic, providing the possibility of safe, voluntary and honorable return of all illegal Afghan immigrants to their country were other issues emphasized by both sides.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly emphasized that it is committed to providing human rights and that it does not allow Afghanistan’s soil to be used against the security of another country.
