Iranian diplomats say Tehran has ‘good relations’ with the IEA
Iran’s consul general in Balkh province, Hamidreza Ahmadi, said on the occasion of the anniversary of the Iranian Revolution that Tehran has good relations with the Islamic Emirate and these ties will be further strengthened.
Ahmadi said facilities to boost exports, imports and support sectors in Afghanistan will be provided.
“After the developments, fortunately, the only country that remained in Afghanistan and supported the Afghan people was Iran,” said Ahmadi.
“We have good relations with the Islamic Emirate and we want to expand relations in all fields,” he added.
Majid Sadeghi Dolatabadi, Iran’s consul general in Jalalabad in Nangarhar province also said that Tehran wants to increase surveillance on the border with Afghanistan instead of building a wall.
“The border issue is very complex and should be dealt with technically,” said Dolatabadi.
Nangarhar officials meanwhile have asked the Iranian authorities to work for the recognition of the Islamic Emirate in international forums.
This week, Iran is marking the 45th anniversary of the revolution that overthrew the rule of the Pahlavi dynasty and led to the establishment of the Islamic Republic in February 1979.
