IEA supreme leader calls on courts to ensure the law so ‘govt can survive’

Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzadah, the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), has called for courts around the country to implement the law, saying that the government will survive on the back of justice.

In an audio tape attributed to Akhundzadah, which was posted to the Twitter page of the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Zabiullah Mujahid on Wednesday, the leader said “justice is the instrument of survival of the government”.

“If there is justice, the (government) will survive. But if there is no justice, and there is oppression, selfishness, murders and revenge, as well as killings without the court, this (country) will be ruined,” Akhundzadah said in the audio tape.

According to him, “oppression” can be prevented by way of a righteous decision of religious scholars and its proper implementation by the government.
