Afghanistan: 34 insurgents killed in military raids
At least 34 militants have been killed and nine others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security official said Monday.
In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Urzgan, Zabul, Badghis, Farah, Faryab, Baghlan, Takhar and Helmand provinces, in which 34 insurgents were killed and nine others wounded.
Afghan forces arrested five militants during operations and handed them over to the related judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National and Defense Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, 13 Daesh fighters killed, one wounded and three others arrested in Chaparhar district of Nangarhar, some ammunition and weapons belonged to the enemy seized by the Afghan security forces in the district–13 insurgents killed and three others wounded in Andar, Zankhan districts and center of Ghazni province–four militants killed and three others wounded in Dehrawod district of Urzgan, while two other rebels killed in Marja district of Helmand province.
Similarly, a Taliban fighter was killed and two others wounded in Mosahi district of Kabul–one insurgent killed in Qalat center of Zabul and two rebels were arrested in Dawlat Abad district of Faryab province
In past 24 hours, 10 planed clearing operations, and two Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 125 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including eight strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
