Daesh rebels among 4 detained in Nangarhar raids

Two Daesh or Islamic State (IS) rebels and two kidnappers have been arrested in security operations in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that special forces of National Directorate of Security (NDS) captured a Daesh rebel named Izharullah known as Khaksar along with another suspect in Khyali Qala area of 8th police district.

He said civilians and intelligence operatives suffered no casualties in the raid.

According to another report, police have arrested two kidnappers named Massoud and Khairullah in Surkhroad district and 1st police district of Jalalabad city during separate raids.

Khogyani said the detained were involved in abducting employee of Ministry of Interior Nek Mohammad and Nangarhar custom department worker Haji Anwar.

The detainee had confessed their crimes, he added.

According to Khogyani, the detainees were referred to Attorney General Office for further action.
