Five Policemen Killed in Zabul, Uruzgan Attacks
Five policemen were killed and three more were wounded in separate incidents in Zabul and Uruzgan provinces on Sunday night, local officials said.
Four policemen were killed and two more were wounded in a Taliban attack on their outpost in Zabul on Sunday night, Zabul police chief Hekmat Kochi said.
The attack took place at around 9 pm local time on a highway that connects the city of Qalat with Sahr-e-Safa district, he said, adding that “two Taliban were also killed and three others were wounded in the attack.”
The Taliban has not commented over the incident.
Meanwhile, one policeman was killed and one more was wounded in a magnetic IED blast that targeted their vehicle in the city of Tarinkot in Uruzgan on Sunday evening, the provincial governor’s media office said.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
