US pledges to put an end to conflict in Afghanistan

Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has reiterated the US government’s support to promote the negotiations among Afghans required to bring the conflict to an end, a statement from the US embassy in Kabul said on Tuesday.

Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, visited Kabul from November 10-12. During the visit, he met with a number of stakeholders in Afghanistan, both in and outside of government.

He met with President Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah, and other government officials, as well as representatives of a variety of political groups andthe High Peace Council.
