Following the violation of its airspace by the Indian Air Force (IAF), the government of Pakistan has summoned a special meeting of the apex body that oversees policy formulation, exercises, deployment, research and development, and operational command and control of the country’s nuclear arsenal.

This has boosted morale at India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which developed the missile; during the last test, conducted in April 2018, the missile took off from its launcher successfully but rolled uncontrollably during flight and then plunged into the Bay of Bengal.

Pakistan’s military said one or more Indian aircraft crossed into disputed airspace over the region of Kashmir, prompting Pakistan to scramble its own fighter jets in response.
