District police chief among 10 killed in Uruzgan attack

At least 10 security forces, including police chief for Dah Rawood district, have been killed in a Taliban attack in central Uruzgan province.

A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed a joint security base of the district on Tuesday night.

He said 10 security forces were killed, including acting police chief for the district Wali Mohammad, laser unit commander Sayed Ali and three ANA soldiers.

According to him, the militants took away weapons and a Humvee tank from the base.

Mirza Khan, a resident of the area, said the insurgents had laid all the bodies of the slain security personnel in main bazaar of the district.

Taliban have so far said nothing about the overnight attack.
