Daesh members killed in Nangarhar operation
At least three Daesh insurgents were killed on Tuesday night during a special operation by security forces in the Bagrami area of Jalalabad, in Nangarhar province, the governor’s media office said in a statement.
The operation was conducted by the 999 Special Unit of Police in PD7 of Jalalabad city and based on reports a house allegedly used by key members of Daesh was raided.
According to the statement during the operation weapons, equipment and vehicles were seized.
Social media footage shows gun fire during the night but no civilian casualties were reported during the operation, read the statement.
Meanwhile last night in a separate operation deputy Daesh chief for Momandara district was arrested by NDS forces during an operation in Basewal area of Momandara district, the NDS forces said in a statement.
Also a Taliban IED factory was discovered and destroyed during a targeted operation in the Spich area of central Logar province last night, the Tandar (Thunder) Corps said.
However, the Taliban has refuted this claim.
According to the military Corps the landmines were used to kill civilians and destroy public facilities in the province.
