5 Taliban killed in Laghman drone attack

Five Taliban have been killed in an airstrike in eastern Laghman province while an individual who planned attack on security forces arrested in eastern Nangarhar province, an official and a statement said on Sunday.

Five Taliban including their commander was killed in a drone attack in the Nazar Mohammadkhelo area of Alishang district, the Governor Office said in a statement.

The statement did not say that the attack was conducted by Afghan forces for foreign forces.

Separately, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel have arrested a man Etebar Gul who planned an attack on security forces convoy.

Gul was arrested from the fourth Municipality District of Jalalabad City, the provincial capital, said Attaullah Khogyani, the governor spokesperson.

He added the detainee hailed from the Dangam district of Kunar province. the Taliban have not spoken about the incident.
