31 Taliban killed, 28 injured in Hesarak raids
A commander was among 31 Taliban militants killed during clashes with security forces in various parts of Hesarak district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Monday.
Another 28 militants were wounded in raids by the security forces during the past 48 hours, the officials said, adding civilians remained unharmed during the offensives.
Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said the raids resulted in the killing of 31 militants including a commander named Maulvi Yasir and injuring of 28 others in various parts of the district.
The Selab Military Corps in a statement also confirmed the casualties suffered by the Taliban and said civilians stayed unharmed during the operations.
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
