JUI-F leader shot dead in Pakistan’s North Waziristan

A prominent Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and cleric, Noor Islam Nizami, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district.

According to Pakistani media, the incident took place in Miranshah, close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

North Waziristan District Police Officer (DPO) confirmed that Nizami died from gunshot wounds.

Police have launched an investigation.

JUI-F is a political party in Pakistan and is considered the biggest religious-political party in the country. It is primarily concentrated in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan.
