Pakistan and TTP should settle their differences without conflict: IEA official

The first deputy interior minister Mohammad Nabi Omari has advised the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamabad to resolve matters of conflict between themselves.

Speaking at a gathering in Khost province, Omari said that there is no member of TTP in Afghanistan, but the escalation of conflict in Pakistan affects the situation in Afghanistan.

He stated experience has shown that a war would be devastating for Pakistan. He said even if Islamabad had ten million troops, it couldn’t eliminate its opponents.

“We have seen wars, we have seen revolutions; war and revolution leave widows and orphans; destroys the homeland; ends the economy; It destroys the system,” said Omari.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s defense minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has once again called Afghanistan the “source of terrorism”.

Although Muhammad Asif did not provide evidence to back up his statements, he said that if the Islamic Emirate “closes the shelters of the Pakistani Taliban,”terrorism will end.

The IEA’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid rejected his claims and said it was an attempt to escape responsibility.
