2 security personnel killed, 3 wounded in Kabul blasts

Two security personnel were killed and three others, including a civilian, wounded on Saturday when three explosions rocked different parts of Kabul, officials said.

Police spokesman Firdos Faramarz said two security personnel were injured in a magnetic bomb blast that struck a pick-up vehicle in 6th police district.

The injured were evacuated to hospital, the police spokesman said, without commenting on their health condition.

Meanwhile, a source in the Kabul police headquarters, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News three personnel of the Public Protection Unit were injured in the blast.

Faramarz said, two policemen were killed and one civilian injured in a landmine blast in the 3rd police district of Kabul.

Separately, a magnetic bomb exploded in the Chaman-i-Hazoori area of 8th police district, But no casualties resulted from the blast, Faramarz said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts, which come amidst mounting killings and IED explosions have in he central capital.
