3 Taliban killed, 3 security men wounded in Nimroz clash

Three Taliban insurgents were killed and three security personnel were wounded during separate clashes in southwestern Nimroz province, police said on Thursday.

A statement from the Police Headquarters said the Taliban launched a coordinated attack on the Khashrod district center last night and clashes between the two sides continued until Thursday morning.

Governor ZamraliAhadisaid Taliban fighters from Helmand and Farah provinces attacked check-posts in Khashrud district on Wednesday night.

He said three rebels were killed and another three injured in the clash and the attack was repulsed.

A security source in Khashrud district, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok by telephone: “Three policemen were injured in the clash and one of them is in critical condition”.

According to him, a tank of the security forces was also destroyed in a mortar fire during the clash.

A Taliban source, who did not want to be named, said the fighters suffered no casualties in the clash.
